So i told my friend Cody about my experience this morning and he told me a related story that happened in one of his classes at Purdue.
In Cody's Industrial Engineering they have have a couple midterm exams throughout the semester, and a couple weeks ago he was taking it a couple frat guys showed up late, after the final was over and told the professor that they were late because they had a frat conference in Michigan and on the way back they got a flat tire.
So the professor understood and told them they could take the exam later that day. When the students got there, the professor sat them each at the corners of a huge lecture hall. He handed them each a piece of paper and that was their exam...The piece of paper read, "Which tire?"
In Cody's words, "haha they got roasted."
The professor told the class that he would have let them take it if they had answered it right. The professor told the class something like, "most of us professors are reasonable people, there's no need to lie about missing an exam, i would have let them take it if they hadn't lied and made up a story."

Slept Through My Most Important Final
So i have been studying for my Intro to Aerospace Engineering final for the last week. I have put almost all my focus on it each day trying to make sure that i get above an 80% because that will pull my grade up to a B-. For some reason I didn't put in enough effort and failed the first half of the course. My grade through 1/2 the tests and homeworks was a 32%. So i finally got my act together and aced the rest of the course putting myself in the position where if i did well on the final i wouldn't have to retake the course. So i had prepared and prepared all week and Sunday night i decided i was ready and would go to bed early. I went to bed at 9:30 P.M. didn't fall asleep until after 2:30. It was miserable. I had my phone fully charged and three alarms set so i could get breakfast and take my final at 7:45.
I woke up this morning and checked my phone because i hadn't heard an alarm. It was off. Somehow it turned off in the middle of the night. I woke up at 8:50 ran out of the room and asked some guy to give me a ride. He saved my day because my exam was at the one building the farthest away from my dorm, Surge.
I even checked my phone to make sure it wasn't off or anything while i was laying in bed, because i was paranoid something might happen to cause me to not wake. Usually feel like an idiot because those kind of things don't ever happen. Today i still feel like an idiot....
I went to talk to Erin, our teacher, twice this week during her office hours and these were my exact words as I left her office, "Thanks for your help; see you on Monday. Hopefully I don't oversleep."
So i made it to the class with 40 minutes to spare. Half or the test was conceptual questions so i answered those first, then moved on to the workout, math intensive questons. I didn't get all the way finished but hopefully things work out.

New Content
Hopefully TMH will get some new content up soon. I think another short film will be the next thing that we do. I've got a couple script ideas that I think could be pretty funny. Hopefully I'll get them on paper and get some things rolling over break. Also Alex and I are going to offer our commentary on the making of Monster Movie for all you fans out there waiting for the directors' commentary. It is coming!

Dream Before Finals
So I had a very interesting dream last night; I am going to try to tell you every detail I can remember so that I can so as to make as vivid an image for you to see as possible.
The dream started off at Virginia Tech on December 10th, 2009 (today, which is reading day). For some reason my friend Patrick, who does not go to Virginia Tech, and I decided to meet up early in the morning. I don't know why we didn't actually do anything but I do remember him saying something like, "Why did I get up this early, I forgot we don't have any classes today," to which I replied, "oh well, let's go over to your house." So we walked across campus to where his house was, it was a small, old, beaten down, white house. For some reason it was on the academic side of campus. When we got to his house we walked through (the inside of which looked similar to a friend's apartment) and went into the backyard. The backyard reminded me very much of my own backyard back home. While we were out there, I let his dog out. His dog immediately started running away as fast as possible along the edge of the woods. Patrick said, "I told you he would do that." All of a sudden, out of nowhere a fox appeared and grabbed the small dog and started carrying him towards us with the small dog in its mouth. For some reason the fox starts running at us full speed. I didn't know what to do so I decided to drop kick the animal as it runs towards Patrick. And it wasn't as if the fox was going to attack us, it was more that he was just running in our direction. I can't remember if I timed the kick right; I was coming at him from the side so depending on how fast he was running, it could have been very difficult. All I remember was trying to tell some girl about trying to dropkick a fox and then the dream ended.
I would just like to know what is going on in my head while I am sleeping. Why can't I get a peaceful night's sleep without inadvertently killing a friends dog on reading day before finals start? Maybe tonight will be better...We shall see.

Monster Energy Drink
If you have seen our Monster Movie, you will have seen the intense product placement in the scene where Alex opens up the refrigerator and 20 some Monster Energy Drinks are sitting in the door. It turns out that someone that was representing Monster Energy Drinks for the contest liked that and wants to put up the image of Alex and all the drinks on Monster's website. So look out for that, I'm not sure when it will be posted. Hopefully everything works out.

Final Cut Pro Workshop
So we went to the Final Cut Pro workshop at the Innovation Space center in Torgersen Hall tonight. We basically went over all the important tools and steps to go through when editing a movie. Too bad we didn't have the class a week earlier and we may have knocked off 3 hours or so to our editing time Saturday night and Sunday morning. It was still good though; next time we edit it'll be no sweat.

24-Hour Film Festival
This past weekend the Mad Hatters, in this case Alex Rannals and I, entered a 24-hour Monster Movie film festival at Virginia Tech. We were given a week to work on the costume and 24 hours to actually film the movie. Our monster was the "Monster from Down Under". We were given a list of things to be included in the film and that was about all the guidance we had. We started blamestorming around 9 P.M. walking through the shots and all. I think filming actually started around 11 P.M. Once we finished, Alex and I headed over to the Innovation Center in Torgersen Hall to edit. We had never used Final Cut Pro (editing software) before but managed to figure some things out and finished the film around 8 A.M. Sunday morning.
The movie premiered later that night around 6 P.M. in front of the Virginia Tech Film Club. We ended up getting third place and "Best Costume". Not too bad for our first film.
